Announced: iPhone 18 Pro adds variable aperture and signed reference images
Apple has announced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max with a 48MP variable-aperture main camera and manual controls for aperture, shutter speed, white balance and histogram monitoring. Apple Reference Image uses signed sensor data to create an unalterable reference image, with availability beginning September 18, 2026.

Confirmed release: Insta360 Luna Pro records native vertical 4K
Insta360’s Luna Pro is a gimbal camera with native 4K/30 9:16 capture, a 1-inch sensor and Leica Summicron optics. It also offers 8K Dolby Vision, 10-bit I-Log and AI tracking; Insta360 lists a September 10, 2026 release date.
