Cardboard puts editable video timelines inside ChatGPT and Claude
Cardboard’s new ChatGPT and Claude integrations can turn media into cuts, captions, music, reframes and motion graphics. The output remains an editable Cardboard timeline, available for refinement in its browser or Mac app.
Why it matters: That editable handoff is the important distinction: AI-generated work does not have to end as a fixed export, so an editor can still interrogate and revise the cut.

Parergon makes photo ingest and metadata changes easier to audit
Parergon 1.8.0 adds verified ingest and a review stage before batch metadata writes. It also brings track-based geotagging, Content Credentials, XMP sidecars and macOS Photos-library editing.
Why it matters: This is a strong niche update for photographers managing consequential archives. Reviewing changes before a batch write is a meaningful safeguard against metadata errors spreading through a catalogue.

Godox’s TT350II is a compact TTL flash for several camera systems
Godox has introduced the TT350II with a hybrid hot shoe, colour display, LED modelling light and 2.4GHz Wireless X support. One version supports Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm and OM System/Panasonic; the separate TT350II S is for Sony.
Why it matters: A shared flash option matters for photographers working across bodies or brands, where accessory duplication adds up. Its small format also suits travel and event kits better than a larger lighting setup.

Instagram is testing 90-minute horizontal video with selected US creators
Instagram has begun a limited US test of Features, a horizontal-video format supporting uploads up to 90 minutes, following creator testing in Brazil. Short Reels can link viewers to a longer Feature.
Why it matters: It remains a test, not a new default publishing format. Still, the short-to-long link could give finished interviews, shows and podcast video a more coherent route through Instagram.

Apple’s new iPad mini adds OLED and IP67 protection
Apple has unveiled an iPad mini with an 8.5-inch OLED display, A20 Pro, IP67 water and dust resistance, and a landscape-edge 12MP Center Stage camera. Preorders begin October 28, with availability from November 6.
Why it matters: It is not an imaging-specific release, but OLED, compact dimensions and weather resistance make a more credible case for field review, mobile editing and on-set monitoring.
